Colorful CZ Cocktail Rings for Fall

Friday, September 18th, 2009

While wedding ring sites tell you not to buy an egregiously large cubic zirconia stone for your wedding ring, we think the opposite when it comes to this year’s cz cocktail rings.   One of this year’s hottest jewelry trends, the cocktail ring, with its glamour and presence, can change the look of an outfit.

When it comes to cocktail ring styles, we say the bigger the better.   Combining colored and clear cubic zirconia can be particularly stunning.  We’re seeing dazzling combinations in purples, blues and greens, with “pops of color” being very popular in general.

Here’s what Jewelry Style has to say:

“Neon and bright colored stones are stealing the scene for fall ’09. To get the look, pick up CZ rings in colors like lime green, fluorescent yellow or hot pink. Add the jewels to a basic black sheath for a modern take on costume jewelry. One great (and inexpensive) Cubic Zirconia cocktail ring is just the perfect pick-me-up for updating structured pieces at the office or for adding a splash of color when you’re grabbing after-work drinks with the girls. As best demonstrated by the 80s, a little neon color goes a long way; a cocktail ring adds just the right amount.”

Jewel tones, chain link and fringe are three key jewelry and accessory trends for fall.   There will be more bold cubic zirconia statements being made in the next few months.  And who wouldn’t like a color called “Tropicana?”

Details…:

“Bright jewel tones – The 80s are back in a big way. By this, we mean that neon hued necklaces that add a shock of color to darker outfits are hot, hot, hot! Show off megawatt happy moods with Cubic Zirconia necklaces that incorporate hot pink, Tropicana orange and citrus yellow set against gold tone. Cubic Zirconia and Platinum Settings: Brillante at ShopNBC

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

We were delighted to hear about a new jewelry line called “Brilliante” that combines top quality cubic zirconia gemstones with pure platinum settings.  There are many advantages to platinum metal in jewelry.

It’s more durable than most other precious metals including gold.  Platinum is also naturally hypoallergenic and perfect for everyday wear.  You also don’t need to polish platinum the way you would other metals such as silver.  Of course, if you are a regular reader of our blog, you’ll know we love cz for its sparkle, clarity and the fact that no human rights were violated in their creation, as they sometimes are with diamonds from mines around the world.

CZ Hoop Earrings: Cubic Zirconia Hoops By Name

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Personalized cz hoop earrings have the script name spanning the diameter of the earring. The letters, layered in cubic zirconia, have an undulating wave look. You may want the sterling silver or white gold hoop which blends nicely with the sparkly cz name. Or, a gold hoop with the cz name is also very complimentary.

Hoops are typically measured in millimeters, or if very large, inches. If you’re looking at precious metal cubic zirconia hoops, you’ll see the full weight of the earrings listed in grams as well as the carat weight of the stones. Make sure you’re comfortable with the size and weight of the earrings. If you are not accustomed to wearing large cz hoop earrings for several hours at a time, they can be mildly irritating at first.

Because personalized hoop earrings need to accommodate names up to 10 letters, the hoops can be quite large, between 30-40mm. They are a fun, casual look and your name will never be forgotten!

Remember when shopping: Hold the hoops up next to your face to see how the color tone of the metal and the size compliment your features.

Beautiful CZ Cubic Zirconia Gemstone Color Trends

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Cubic zirconia jewelry offers countless ways to accessorize with color.  In virtually any style and setting you’ll find wonderful color combinations in both cz stones themselves, and in their pairing with other gemstones.    Whether your tastes run toward bold, modern fashion or timeless classics, there are color cubic zirconia pieces that fit your style.

The most popular colors of cz stones today are pink, champagne and light green and are available in any cut imaginable.  Blue is also always popular.  CZ stones have beautiful sparkle and clarity that rival diamonds. There are modern settings in sterling silver or platinum for a simple pair of pink cz stud earrings.  Or you may opt for a champagne colored ring in a gold setting, with small clear cubic zirconia stones giving it an antique feel.  Colored cz accentuates the jewelry piece itself and is the perfect finishing touch for casual and dressy occasions.

ABC News Reports CZ Wedding Trend

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

ABC News had a detailed report about how engaged couples are passing on the traditional diamond engagement ring.  Many are choosing to use the money for the celebration.  Others, concerned about their  job security, were uncomfortable with such a large purchase.  Consumer reports indicate that shoppers are seeking out less expensive rings with smaller stones, cubic zirconia or birthstones.  In addition, some are downgrading their metal from platinum to white gold or other material.   This is great news for cubic zirconia jewelry designers and is sure to create even more quality competition for customers’ business.

“So now she has a ring, although not with a real diamond. It doesn’t matter, Perez said, and “no one can tell the difference…”

“Some couples have also decided to skip the diamond altogether, picking birthstones or no rock at all. Part of that is over ethical concerns about the source of diamonds and part of it is driven by the economy…”

Rare Blue Topaz Prompts Jewelry Lovers To Consider Cubic Zirconia

Friday, May 15th, 2009

A genuine topaz is transparent in its natural state, but can be treated to showcase a variety of colors. Of all the shades, blue remains one of the most popular and highly sought after among jewelry lovers. Why? In addition to being a cheery color and one that is expected to be very popular during the spring/summer 2008 season, the color of blue is likely to be the most common response to those who are polled for their favorite color.

The increasing scarcity of blue topaz has forced jewelry lovers to look for a suitable alternative in terms of blue accessories. Because fewer genuine blue topaz gems are available, those that do remain will likely increase in price. As is the case with any market, supply and demand often dictate the consumer cost. Blue, which is one of the three primary colors of light and pigment, can still easily be found in the popular form of cubic zirconia.

Cubic zirconia jewelry, because it is designed to imitate a flawless gemstone, creates the look of an expensive accessory. From pendants to earrings, rings and bracelets, blue cubic zirconia is the perfect compliment to both casual and business attire. Whether you’re out and about in your favorite pair of denims or you’re working in an office setting, this soothing color is sure to be a welcome companion. Its cheerful hue can brighten your day just as easily as its softness can provide instant relaxation. For some, the color of blue may be reminiscent of their birthstone. For others, it may remind them of a day at the beach. Whatever the case, nearly everyone can find a reason to fall in love with the color of blue.

As mentioned earlier in this article, blue is expected to be a very popular fashion color for the upcoming season. While every jewelry lover enjoys knowing that the accessories they choose are ‘in fashion,’ it’s equally important to own classics that will never go out of style. In terms of popularity, blue is one color that has remained a favorite for many years. From the color of inviting eyes to the shade of the perfect afternoon sky, blue is a shade that reminds us of some of life’s most beautiful objects.

If you’re looking to add something new or something blue to your jewelry collection, you may find that genuine blue topaz is becoming increasingly rare and expensive. Luckily, the presence of blue cubic zirconia will allow you to expand your collection without shrinking your wallet. Simulated blue topaz can provide you with a bold look at a fraction of the price of the natural gemstone itself. When set in sterling silver, the white metal provides the perfect backdrop to allow this stone to shine.

When shopping for your next piece of jewelry, don’t be afraid to mix and match your colors. Jewelry can provide us with a rainbow of shades and, if we are open to it, the perfect accessory may be the one that we turn to every day and for every occasion. It’s easy to pull out the classic black business suit or turtleneck sweater because they never go out of style, but adding a touch of color to these timeless classics is one smart look.
